I wanted to gag myself with a spoon. What the hell is wrong with this movie? Why some people let their egos running the creativity? Why? This movie ruins my favorite TV show. I'm insulted. Shame on both of Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrel. The only reason she's in this crappy movie, is because she's looks exactly like Elizabeth Montgomery and can wriggle her nose.
A naive and a good witch named Isabel (Nicole Kidman) determine to lead a normal life without magic. An actor named Jack Wyatt (Will Ferrel) is making a remake of Bewitched TV series and looking for a leading lady. They meet and supposedly falls in love, until he finds out that she's a real witch.
There. Even the synopsis is short. Because there is no plot. Why Nicole Kidman always gasping in this movie? A fake naivity is just stupid. Even Pollyana is much more cooler than you, goddamn it. And stop taking those Ritalin, Will Ferrel. You are not romantic material. You are a part of Frat Pack, don't throw yourself into A-Lister snobs. Weak plot, undefined characters, I truly felt as if someone just making this movie out of spite. It would been nice if Isabel could have been seen as someone who was smarter and not so vulnerable and innocent. Not even these A-Lister celebrities/actors like Shirley MacLaine and Michael Cane could save this movie. This movie only brings big names, but with small quality. Even Shirley MacLaine doesn't remember she was in this movie! She said, "Was I in this crappy movie? I am so sorry." I laughed when she said that.
The producers should think about this before rushing it out to a theater. There were times I was embarrassed to watched this...not to mention I fell asleep several times. Why did they have to device this complicated and nonsensical storyline about a lousy actor who plans on saving his career by starring in a TV remake of "Bewitched"? And he just happens to cast a real witch in the female lead? And this real witch just happens to have some real relatives who are the same characters from the original TV series?
Why not making the original one with the basic; Samantha is a witch and she falls in love with Darren the mortal. That's it. Simple, but working. Too bad it didn't happened. The story gets pretty desperate at times... with "dream" sequences, the appearance of characters who may or may not be mere figments of someone's imagination and the ability of the witch to turn back time indefinitely to erase any of her spells that may have gone awry. I wish I can turn back time and decided not to watch.
Due to my hectic schedule, I will not be able to review all new movies every week. I apologize. I will however review some older movies from DVDs from time to time. Thank you for understanding.
