Ahahaha, even when I starts typing, I can't contain myself to laugh. Finally, after some over-the-top movies I've watched, we're back in a goof-ball comedy with memorable quotes, charming casts, great chemistry and great storylines. I like most of the Frat Pack movies, especially when there are Vince Vaughn and the Wilson brothers. This is one of the funniest movie I've ever watched. Absolutely.
John (Owen Wilson) and Jeremy (Vince Vaughn) are best friend for life. And their hobby is crashing other people's weddings, meet the bridemaids or female guests there, sleep with them, and probably even make friends with the guests and families. One day they are crashing to US Treasury Secretary's (Christopher Walkin) wedding party, and they're meeting the bridemaids; Claire (Rachel McAdams) and Gloria (Isla Fisher). John falls hard with Claire who already has a fiancee, Zack (Bradley Cooper) and Jeremy is trying to get away from the clinger Gloria.
Hilarious is one word to describe the movie. Most of the scenes are so funny, I remember all I did was wiping my tears and tried so hard not to have a stroke because I was laughing all the time. There are so many funny moments, it's hard to remember the best part. The movie is funny with lots of nudity, sex, f-bombs, but not gross or disgusting like American Pie or any other comedy movies. But this buddy movie really made my day.
The casts have great chemistry with each other. I love Vince Vaughn who is so willing to humilliate himself in the name of comedy. Isla Fisher is a very funny girl, I thought she will be the next big thing -- even Rachel McAdams who is in a breakthrough actress last year. Awesome performances by everyone, I didn't find anyone I hate in this movie. Funniest lines are thrown here and there, and there isn't any time to take a break at all. I thought I was gonna passed out because I was tired laughing and crying at the same time. Keir O' Donnel is also great as playing Todd, a weird gay kid in the family. The most surprising performance is from Jane Seymour, who played the wife. I'm used to see her as Dr.Quinn,Medicine Woman and seen her really let go was really surprising. Funniest lines: "Why don't you try getting jacked off under the table in front of the whole damn family and have some real problems, jackass!" -- "I'm not asking you to marry me...I'm asking you not to marry him!" -- "I got a stage five. Virgin. Clinger."
Overall, I think this is one of the best comedy I've ever watched. The movie becomes classic like There's Something About Mary, Old School, and others. This is a movie you should just watch when you need something to get off from your mind. Classic. Classic. Funny as hell. Phenomenal! Hahaha... *wipe tears*
Due to my hectic schedule, I will not be able to review all new movies every week. I apologize. I will however review some older movies from DVDs from time to time. Thank you for understanding.
Welcome to my humble weblog, a place to quench your addiction of movies. Enjoy your stay. Sometimes it's okay to be addicted to movies. PS: Beware of my brash review and language. I have a crazy obsessive compulsive behavior of watching movies. I called it being passionate. LOL. Grab some popcorn, and have a nice day! By the way, you can click the boxes at each reviews to watch the movie trailers. Enjoy!
