A no-brainer movie that actually entertaining? Shut up! Get outta heya! This is great! So what if it's stupid, silly and nonesense? We need more of this popcorn film in our midst, instead the usual crap. Hey, I'm not saying this ain't crap also, but this is a sweet smell of crap. I shit you not.
Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) is a hitman, and he is being poisoned by a Spanish gang leader named Verona (Jose Pablo Cantillo), and he only have one-hour to live. His mission now is to kill Verona and make amends with his girlfriend, Eve (Amy Smart). The only thing that can keep him alive is that he has to keep moving, according to his doctor named Miles (Dwight Yoakam).
Simple premise and storyline, and yet it works. From the start until the end, the film is giving us a non-stop action and witty lines one-another. It does resembles Grand Theft Auto game and Speed, and if this movie is starring Keanu Reeves, it might still work. The point it, the movie is fun and hilarious. I laughed so much in this movie and totally entertained. Kudos to the film-makers, they crafted a pretty intense and nice visual for this movie. A very high pace film, an adrenaline junkie really gonna enjoy this movie. All you need to do is just sit back and relax without actually thinking. Hey, sometimes I need that. There are bad "crappy" movies out there. But this is actually a good "crappy" movie, believe it or not. Very edgy and dangerous, and yet is very funny.
I seriously couldn't stop laughing and felt like I was in a roller-coaster. There is a little character development, of course. But that's the point. I admire an action flick that sticks so determinedly to its blazing guns, coming off like a bravura adaptation of a video-game which has yet to be made. It won't be to everybody's taste, but with a deliciously sick sense of humor and a refreshingly mean streak, Crank at least has the courage to carry its convictions through to the bloody end. Jason Statham should be in the A-list in Hollywood, because I think he's ready to be an action hero. By the way, watch out for the sex scene; it is so fucking outrageous!
Due to my hectic schedule, I will not be able to review all new movies every week. I apologize. I will however review some older movies from DVDs from time to time. Thank you for understanding.
