Oh, man. I already made a review, but somehow I forgot to saved it and it was all gone. Stupid me. But then again, I wasn't too keen of watching this movie nor making a review about it. I know I haven't update for a while, and thank you for all of your bribes. I'm sorry this review won't be for your liking.
Gary (Vince Vaughn) and Brooke (Jennifer Aniston) are in relationship and living together in a nice big condominium in Chicago. After a dinner that goes awry, they are having an argument and decides to break-up. But neither of them wants to give up the condo, so they stay in the same roof, even when they cannot stand each other. Their broken relationship put their families and friends uncomfortable, especially when they have to choose a side.
I didn't enjoy this movie as much I wanted to be. I hate being lied. All the lies from the trailer! When they are gonna realize that it's not nice to put a false trailer which leads people to believe that they are gonna watch a certain type of film? I felt duped. When I watched the trailer, I thought I was gonna watch a romantic comedy. Nope, it was a pure 2 hours torture for me; I was watching a movie where the main characters done nothing but screaming, yelling, and throwing stuff at each other. Look, a bickering couple is cute, okay? But this ain't cute, this ain't funny, and this ain't romantic at all. It's nothing but a bunch of characters showing off their egos, without actually following the formula. Follow the formula of romantic comedy, people! How am I suppose to enjoy this when I expected great movie, and finds a dull movie about a couple who cannot stand each other. I didn't care whether they were gonna stay together or not. If I don't care about the character, it means they have failed to delivered.
The acting was okay, I guess. I love the cast. GREAT cast of actors, and they shouldn't be in this movie. I hope someday they're gonna be together again with this cast, but in a very different and good movie. The thing is, Vaughniston are dating in real life, so they don't have that chemistry on the movie. Their chemistry have been sucked outta the film. But I love the characters of Gary's brothers like Dennis (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Lupus (Cole Hauser) with Gary's friends Johnny (John Favreau) and Riggleman (Justin Bateman), not to mention also Brooke's best friend Addie (Joey Lauren Adams) and Christopher (Justin Long). They have nice scenes and great chemistry together, so it was a plus for them. Although, I thought they were wasting their valuable talents being in this movie. I'm happy that people acknowledge the fact that Vince Vaughn and Vincent D'Onofrio are look-alike, so they had to put them together as siblings. Thank you. But sadly, I just wanna say this movie failed to keep me entertained. Watch something else.
Due to my hectic schedule, I will not be able to review all new movies every week. I apologize. I will however review some older movies from DVDs from time to time. Thank you for understanding.
Salute, -HoneyBee-
