Brush up your Shakespeare, everyone. You'd about to see a modern version of "Twelfth Night" -- a classic story about cross-dresser. Heheh. I thought it would be stupid, but I had fun watching this and it's very light and funny.
Viola (Amanda Bynes) loves soccer and a member of school's team. When her team is being dropped out from the school league and her boyfriend Justin (Robert Hoffman) support the dropping out, she dumped him. Sebastian (James Kirk) is Viola's twin brother who is running away to London. Viola decided to become Sebastian by pretending to be him, and applied to a rival school's team. She falls in love with Duke (Channing Tatum), her team mate. Duke likes Olivia (Laura Ramsey), but Olivia likes Sebastian whom she doesn't know it's actually Viola. Meanwhile, Monique (Alex Breckenridge) is Sebastian ex-girlfriend is trying to get back to him, without knowing that Sebastian is actually Viola.
This is a funny and nice comedy film based on Shakespeare famous tale. I found myself enjoying the story. Yes, I had to suspend my disbelief -- I mean, how come people couldn't see that he is actually a she?! I really like to watch these pretty and handsome actors and actresses. They aren't annoying unlike some other teenage movies, and pretty believable with their performances, especially with the soccer. The music is great and perfect for this kind of teenage movie. I like the cinematography which is pretty good with the camera movement. I wasn't dissapointed.
I really like Amanda Bynes' performance here, because she really didn't mind embarrased herself. I've seen her ever since she was a little girl. Imagine to see her in this movie, all grown up! I'm getting older... Channing Tatum is incredibly HOT! Man, those muscle...Oooh, those lips...begging to get kissed... Ahem, but anyhoo... This film is very light and I think it's great if you watch it with friends. So what if it's predictable? As long it's a good clean fun and everyone is happy, I am not complaining. Funny dialogues, simple slapstick, great casting, pretty people, witty characters, etc. I really recommend this for everyone.
Due to my hectic schedule, I will not be able to review all new movies every week. I apologize. I will however review some older movies from DVDs from time to time. Thank you for understanding.
Welcome to my humble weblog, a place to quench your addiction of movies. Enjoy your stay. Sometimes it's okay to be addicted to movies. PS: Beware of my brash review and language. I have a crazy obsessive compulsive behavior of watching movies. I called it being passionate. LOL. Grab some popcorn, and have a nice day! By the way, you can click the boxes at each reviews to watch the movie trailers. Enjoy!
