This is one of the rare moments that I wanted stab my eyes so I could stay awake watching this piece of junk. I felt sorry to my friends who were watching too in the cinema. I couldn't barely contain my boredom. We shoulda watched the other movie; any kind of movie! Oh! I am sorry, guys. Look, I don't care what the critic said. This movie is s-u-c-k. I was robbed! Give me back my money!
Julian Noble (Pierce Brosnan) is an aging hitman. After he killed his targets in Mexico City, he met a travelling businessman named Danny Wright (Greg Kinear) in a bar. He confesses to him that he's a professional killer and lonely. After Julian failed killing one of the target, he seeks Danny's help.
I saw the trailer and thought it could be a good movie; my friend who is also a movie critic liked it, critics love it, what did I have to lose? How about 2 hours of my life? This movie is simply one of the worst films I have ever seen. Why? I like movies that are a bit dark and awkward, but this was just plain weird and stupid. I don't mind a bit drama here and there. But this is absurd. I didn't feel anything. I was bored to my skull. I kept talking to my friends, convincing each other that the next scene would be good...but nothing happens. They talked, and talked, and talked, and talked, and talked, and talked, and talked, and talked...Yap, yap, yap, yap, yap, yakkiti yakk yakk...This movie was stupid and pointless. What was redeeming about the story? I didn't care anyway. Not funny, not entertaining. If you have choices to see another movie please decide to go see something else as you might find your time more enjoyable spent on something that might actually hold your attention.
It was cringing to sit through and not enjoyable to watch at all. At times, I found myself feeling that this film is holding something back, not quite plumbing the depths of its situation and premise. At the end it feels a little too light, a little too insubstantial to register the impact it should. This film veers uneasily between comedy and psychological drama, with a few lightweight thrills thrown in. Pierce Brosnan...dear Lord. Wasn't he suppose to be this suave James Bond back then? How come he lower himself like that? In this movie he done nothing but wailing, crying, throwing disgusting jokes, and awfully drunk. Maybe it's some sort of pseudo sophistication people feel by laughing at/with Brosnan's character's vile humor? I'm sorry, guys. I was stumped by this movie. Me and my friends could had played some pool and clubbing. I guess it wasn't meant to be.
Due to my hectic schedule, I will not be able to review all new movies every week. I apologize. I will however review some older movies from DVDs from time to time. Thank you for understanding.
